Is Gas Engineer Software good for sole traders?
Yes. A big share of heating and plumbing businesses are one-person outfits, and the software is built to work for them as well as for teams. It's easy to pick up, works offline, and there's a UK-based support team on the phone if you get stuck. Working on your own doesn't mean sorting it out on your own.
What does a sole trader actually need software for?
Every part of the business rests on you, and the paperwork isn't the part that pays. The features sole traders lean on most are the gas certificates, quoting and invoicing from the phone, and the automatic service and payment reminders. Going digital also means your records are backed up and searchable without you filing anything.
Which plan is best for a sole trader?
Most sole traders land on Core or Pro. Core covers the day-to-day: certificates, quoting, invoicing, online payments, your calendar and automated service reminders. Pro adds the accounting integrations for Xero, QuickBooks and Sage, Boiler AI Assist, AI quoting and invoicing, and appointment confirmations.

What happens if I lose signal on site?
The app works offline. You can still see your day, open a job and fill in a certificate. It saves to your phone and syncs the moment you've got signal again, so nothing gets lost.
Will I get on with it if I'm not that techy?
If you can use WhatsApp, you can use GES. You also get a free onboarding call to get set up properly from the start.
I'm on paper pads or another app. Is it a pain to switch?
No. If you've got a customer list from another system, get in touch and our team will import it for you during onboarding, so you're not typing it all in again. Coming off paper, most sole traders are up and running the same week.
