How do I add a customer onto Gas Engineer Software?

You can add customers both on the web portal and mobile app, both syncing to each other. On the app, tap Customers on the home screen, then Add New Customer. Fill in their details and tap Save. For more detail, see our help centre article.

GES also has an import from contact feature, allowing you to copy across details you already saved to your phone's contact book.

Can I delete a customer?

You can't permanently delete a customer (so your job history stays intact), but you can archive them on the web portal: go to the Customers tab, search their last name, tick the checkbox on their row, then choose Actions → Archive.

Why store customer details in GES rather than my phone or a notebook?

Each customer links to one or more job addresses, which are used to create jobs and events. From there, Gas Engineer Software keeps a complete history of every job for that customer — certificates, invoices and notes included — so you can look anything up in seconds, any time.

Can my whole team see the same customer records?

Yes. Everyone works from one database that syncs across all devices in real time, so the office and the engineers in the field are always looking at the same up-to-date details. Nothing gets lost between people.

Does it work when I'm offline?

Yes. Customer records are available on the mobile app even without signal — handy in basements and plant rooms — and any changes sync automatically once you're back online.

Is my customer data safe?
